Wow! Another wonderful book in the Clay Brentwood Series! Jared McVay is a great storyteller. Pulls you in until the very end and leaves you yelling, noooo... just a few pages more. Thankfully there's another book waiting. I love the way he writes his characters. You either love them or hate them, no second thoughts. I love Loralie. And this book is loaded with surprises, love how he brought in a few characters from a book by another favorite author. An unexpected but happy surprise. Just downloaded Stone Mountain Book 5. Jared has done it again. Cinch Mountain was a gripping story that holds you till the last word. Clay Brentwood is bound to keep going no matter the obstacles in his path. Arriving on Cinch Mountain, Clay did what he does best.. Fight for the good. Loralie sends a telegram to get help from Clay. Not knowing if he will show, she sets off for her property to save it. When she sees Clay being whipped she fought for him. Once her property is saved, Loralie msy have lost her heart.....

Cinch Mountain was a great read involving action and intrigue, I loved it! Jared is developing Clay Brentwood into a character that anyone would be grateful to call a friend. You never know what kind of situation he will be faced with next as he continues his journey home to return to his "normal" life as a rancher. We met Loralie Benson in Book 3, Hammershield. She is rather smitten with Clay and she would like to think he is with her as well. She is also needing to get home to Cinch Mountain to rebuild her homestead after a horrible tragedy and the way Jared intertwines both their quests is genius. I personally had not read many westerns until I found Jared's books. I highly recommend the Clay Brentwood series to anyone who loves stories that are entertaining, full of action and he always manages to put an unexpected twist in there that totally blindsides the reader. Thank you for writing these books and I look forward to more Clay Brentwood adventures.

This one was as good as the first three. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Very good series except the timeline is off. It's hard to figure when it takes place. I would assume the late 1800's. Tolstoy didn't write War and Peace until 1914 and by the 1890's the railroad was pretty well established with little or no trouble from the Indians. Other than that, a very good series.
I found the story entertaining. Will buy some of the other Brentwood books.
